• Who is your favorite sports team? Why?
• What is the craziest thing you have ever done to support your team?

SCRIPTURE:

Read Exodus 35:29-35

• Why is the veil lifted when Moses speaks with God? What does this say about his relationship with God? What does it say about his relationship with the people?

Read 2 Corinthians 3:7-18

• Why did the once glorious covenant of Moses have to be replaced by the everlasting covenant of Christ?
• What are the practical results of this new covenant?

SHARE:

• How do you “veil” God’s glory in your own life? Doubt? Shyness? Forgetfulness? Mistrust? Intimidation? Defensiveness?
• if you were to drop this veil, how would your relationships and witness be different?
• Who or what helped remove the things that once veiled your “dull mind?”
• What changes have you experienced since coming to know Jesus?

• What do you do when someone says something that you really don’t want to hear?

SCRIPTURE:

Read Mark 8:31 – 9:1

• If your closest friends were asked what one word best describes you, what might they say?
• Who did the people of Jesus’ day say He was?
• Who do people today say Jesus is?
• What about you? How has your answer as to who Jesus is changed over time?

SHARE:

• What do you do when you are angry at God?
• How has your relationship with Jesus affected your lifestyle? Relationships? Politics? Priorities?
• Where does Jesus’ ways conflict with your ways?
• What do you stand to lose by following Christ – in EVERY area of your life?
• What do you stand to gain?

Read Luke 16:1-13.

In this parable, Jesus instructs us that if we are not good stewards of worldly wealth, then God will not trust us with true riches.

• If someone was to look at your checkbook today, what would they learn about your priorities based upon how you spend your money?
• Do you think your priorities align with God’s?

Read Matthew 6:19-24 and Ecclesiastes 5:10

These verses show us that we cannot serve both God and money, and that there is no satisfaction in the love of money.

• Describe a time in your life where you placed your trust in money and not in God. How did the situation ultimately turn out? What did you learn from this experience?

Read Leviticus 27:30, Deuteronomy 14:23, and Malachi 3:7-11.

These verses emphasize the importance of giving the tithe to God and returning to God what is His.

• What does tithing currently look like in your own life? Is it something you do well or is it something you struggle with?
• How have you seen your life blessed because of your tithing? How have you seen others blessed because of your tithing?
• How has tithing affected your faith and relationship with God? What things have you learned about God and His blessings?

Read Matthew 23:23 and Proverbs 3:9-10.

These verses instruct us to give to God His tithe first rather then waiting to give it last.

• It requires faith to give first. If you give last, it doesn’t require faith. Describe a time when you gave first. What blessings resulted from your act of faith?

Understand: we are not buying chairs that cost $200. That figure represents everything it takes to serve up the bread of life in a creative and compelling way when someone attends Revolution!

Back in April we raised our faith in a big way as a church! We kicked off our first special initiative. It is called ILLUMINATE and its all about raising our faith and lighting up our area with the Gospel and love of Jesus!

Its been a revolutionary journey over the last four months! It is amazing to see His plan unfolding.

Now its time to finish ILLUMINATE strong – and early.
